"I am desperately trying to get rid of a 'balanced life.' I am not sure if my life should be 'balanced.' I am honestly trying to live in the sphere that I believe God has called me to live in. The moment I step out of this sphere and poach someone else's, then I believe I will be living an 'unbalanced' life."

Lovers in a Dangerous Time
by Len Hjalmarson
We live in dangerous times, and there is no escape. We live in constant danger of accommodation to our culture. We live in danger of becoming merely consumers of religious services. We live in danger of substituting the menu for the meal, and worshipping the temple and not god.

What's Missing?
by Steve Higgs
I would like to begin by laying my cards on the table. This is an article that is generally critical of postmodern ministry in the world.  It is not meant to be offensive, hurtful, or rude.

Giving it Away
by John Wallis
It seems a lot of people have the idea that it doesn't matter how much you have as long as you do the right thing with it.  Something about that line of thinking just doesn't fit with my understanding of things.  Then a song popped in my head...

The Church in Transition
by Iggie Krug
A key trait of the "Transitioning Church" is its struggle with issues the modern Church had concrete answers for and knew how to handle. These key issues mark the beginning of the divide.

Slime, Moulds & Yeast
by Neil Madgwick
... firstly, church should work it's way into the community and culture that it is based in without a lot of fuss and bright lights, and at the same time make a huge difference.  Secondly, church should be small, well run units who all are in unity, working together towards a common goal.  Thirdly, they need to have structure (what!!!).

Joy to the World...
A Christmas parable by Charlie Wear
The young man gazed through the window of Bill’s Bagels. As he looked through the steam-bordered window, his mouth watered at the sight of the fresh bagels. Twinkling holiday lights formed rainbow reflections that mesmerized his street-weary eyes.

Book Review: Affluenza

by Jordon Cooper
It isn’t just the possessions that change how we live, it is the debt that comes along with it.  North American’s are not living within their means and too many of us are carrying too much debt.  The reason we are in debt is for the most part, our lifestyle is beyond our take home pay because our society is dictating how we should be living.

Making Sense w/ Spencer
by Charlie Wear
Since I have crossed the "bridge" between the institutional church and the "emerging" church, I wanted to speak to both audiences as "The Church." rather than as market segments of the church.

Matrix Revolutions:
Film Review: The Matrix - Revolutions
... after reviewing countless reviews of “The Matrix Revolutions” I am convinced that we have all been duped by a huge conspiratorial plot concocted by Warner Brothers and of course the malevolent Wachowski’s for making such a film.

Monthly website highlights by Mike "the web librarian"...

>Guilty Expression

When I imagine an emerging church website or magazine, I don't think of this site as handing me the answers, or being "professional," or "ministry" centered. When I think of really satisfying sites that I want to go to again and again, I think of destinations like GuiltyExpression.org. Described by its founder as "rants and raves inspired by a passionate, frustrated love for God," I find the articles and discussions on this site to be from quite ordinary people, asking honest questions and being authentic with the possibilites generated. To see what I mean, read the absolutely wonderful short piece "On Attempting to Comb God's Hair" concerning the messyness and incongruity of our beliefs. Check it out!

Mike Morrell's site, Sites Unseen, is a web directory featuring over 2,000 alternative Christian websites.
